On 31 August 2011 the NC3A General Manager signed a contract for the implementation of the Afghanistan Mission Network Integration Core (AMN INT CORE) with the Turkish Company Siemens IT Solutions and Services.
The company, which is also the prime contractor developing, within the framework of the Bi Strategic Command Automated Information System (Bi-SC-AIS) program, the NATO Air Command and Control Information System (AirC2IS) will leverage technology currently being developed for the AirC2IS in order to deliver the AMN INT CORE Capability. This approach provides for the programmatic alignment between NSIP Crisis Response Operation Urgent Requirement (CUR) and Capability Package (CP) requirements.
The AMN CORE Capability, which is aimed to provide a robust platform for integration and interoperability between NATO and National Systems currently operational in ISAF, is planned to be delivered in two sequential baselines the first of which is scheduled to be deployed in theatre by the first half of 2012 with the second, implementing a larger set of functionality, following in the second half of 2012.
